Me as a Executive

By Isreal Rambi LLB4- Project Coordinator LSS

The Law School itself needed upgrading and because we had the sufficient funds to upgrade these small things, such as water bubbler and areas for students to sit around while waiting for classes.

Just these small issues that were affecting the students I saw that it was an area, which I could address through my capacity as Project Coordinator, which is why I became one.

The Law Student Society upholds transparency, and we represent leadership amongst young aspiring lawyers that we try to set an example for students, not just within the law school but over all around UPNG.

We try to set a bar as well for other societies, whether it be conducting such activities as moot court or funday, or even our formal night, which is LLB4 formal night coming soon on October sixth.

I believe we just set an example to uphold certain principles such as integrity, transparency and all these things.

The society is important for the students because as our moto states “Dura Lex Sed Lex” in Latin it means that “the law is harsh, but it is the law”.

The same principle can apply to a lot of things and being a law student, the society is important because no matter what you do, some things will be harsh, but it is what it is.

You have to face it either way, especially when practicing the law, upholding the law and trying to allow justice to prevail in our occupation.

 Therefore, the society is important.

It feels good to be an executive of the LSS and I feel like I am setting an example for my younger peer, and I feel like it is something that I am proud of for my university life.

Personally, my goal is that I want the LSS this year to move the LSS better than as we found it.
