The annual regal runway for the Law student was hosted on Friday August 23rd at the Law school carpark.
Gate fee of K5 was charged for entry.
Assurance of drop off was to be provided for the non-residential students.
The contestants are from each LLB programs and the best team wins to be the Mr and Miss Law School for year 2024.
Free spirited the contestants blew the crowds mind away from their traditional wears to their modern outfits.
“It’s awesome to take part in an event like this and I like bringing myself up to a point where I have a lot of confidence in public speaking.
Thus, this is an opportunity to present myself to the crowd and prove to myself that I can be confident in front of people and do what I love to do”., says Penial Wara, LLB 2 contestant.
With the support of their batch and hearing their name being screamed out from the audiences, contestants felt at home walking out there during their performances.
It gave them the confidence to present themselves out there.
“It’s nerve recking and ex
citing as we all know how law school is already hard as it is. Having this kind of event, it actually helps us apart from academic. I feel happy and tis helps us to establish the relationship with our other cohorts and batch members. It really gave us the boost to our confidence for tonight and when we went out there, we enjoyed ourselves, because we know we have really hardworking, supportive people at the back of us cheering our names. As for me I find it helpful in building network relationship within ourselves”. says Joelyne Opety, LLb1 female contestant.
It takes a lot of courage for the contestant to present themselves out there in the 2000 plus crowds watching and cheering for them.
I really liked that it was an open community event for fundraising and the initiative to fundraise for a good course is very admirable for the LSS.
I also want to say that I was impressed by the answers in the questionnaire and also the final question.
We could hear more knowledge from this department and school in UPNG.
Said Leoshina Mercy Kariah, guest judge and Miss Pacific Islands.
